Boise State Could Play Oregon In China?

Idaho Statesman - Boise State could move its 2009 football season opener to China ? the brainchild of the University of Oregon.

Oregon is scheduled to play BSU at Bronco Stadium on Sept. 5, 2009. The Ducks want to move that game to Beijing or Shanghai in what could be a first for college football or the NFL.

"It would be a great experience for our kids and for the program," BSU athletic director Gene Bleymaier said Tuesday night. "It would be great exposure. From a cultural standpoint and educational standpoint, there would definitely be some benefits. That's why we are going to look into it and see if there's a way to make it happen."

The idea, though, is a long way from fruition, Bleymaier cautioned.

"There's a thousand things that have to be worked out and none of them have been worked out," he said. "It's a long, long way. It's an idea right now. They're not sure, and we're not sure, if it's even feasible." [READ]
