Russell Shooting For Record $30 Million In Guaranteed Money

San Francisco Chronicle - No. 1 pick JaMarcus Russell's agent, Eric Metz, continues to negotiate a deal with the Raiders that could secure up to a rookie-record $30 million in guaranteed money. Neither side is commenting on the talks.

The Raiders are known for getting everyone signed by camp, but at least one team insider said a Russell holdout remains a possibility. Even when a contract is agreed upon, it still must go through lawyers and be approved by the league office -- a process that could take several days before Russell can practice. [READ]
