Gannon Calls It A Career

San Francisco Chronicle - A retirement ceremony is scheduled for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. located at the Napa Marriott for Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon.

"I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for Rich Gannon," Jon Gruden said Friday by cell phone following Tampa Bay's morning practice in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. "I would have been eaten up by the Black Hole had he not shown up."

"He established himself as this team's leader and sometimes pushed his ideas and values on the guys," Treu said. "Some took it the wrong way, but I think the majority of the guys jumped on with him. Rich wasn't afraid to call a guy out, to make somebody mad. He and Gruden saw eye to eye on a lot of things." [READ]
