| 13th April, 2007 - 6:03 pm |  Denver Post - When Domonique Foxworth participated in a player conduct advisory board at the NFL combine in Indianapolis, he knew something major was coming.
"It was a think tank," the Broncos cornerback said. "A lot was talked about, and the players had a lot of input."
Still, Foxworth admits he was surprised by the severity of the suspensions commissioner Roger Goodell levied against two players who, at least in part, inspired the February meeting: Tennessee cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones and Cincinnati receiver Chris Henry. This week Goodell suspended Jones for the entire 2007 season and banned Henry for the first eight games.
"Considering that the incidents were (before) the conduct meeting, I was surprised by how harsh the punishments were that came down," Foxworth said. "I think that's in concert with how the players feel, how the coaches feel. It's how the fans feel. But as far as these particular suspensions, it was a shock to me. It's apparent the NFL will clean up the league one way or another." [READ] |
