Vermeil?s Story Goes Hollywood

Kansas City Star - According to Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil, actor Greg Kinnear is set to play a young Vermeil in a yet-to-be named Disney movie about Vince Papale, a substitute teacher and part-time bartender who earned a job as a walk-on with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1976.

?He sort of became an image of our football team in the early years,? Vermeil said of Papale. ?Just hard-working kids busting their butts. They were making the ?Rocky? movie in Philadelphia (in ?76), and everyone sort of identified with him.?

Vermeil has read the manuscript and described it as part true and part Hollywood. [READ]
