Chiefs Agree To Deal With DT Boone

Press Release - Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Tuesday that the club has agreed to terms of a four-year contract with DT Alfonso Boone. No other terms of the agreement were made available.

Boone (6-3, 305) played in 12 games (four starts) for Chicago in 2006, registering 35 tackles (24 solo) and 2.0 sacks (-13.0 yards). He also played in three postseason contests for the Bears, including the club?s Super Bowl XLI appearance vs. Indianapolis (2/4/07).

The seventh-year pro originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection (253rd overall) of Detroit in the 2000 NFL Draft. Boone was signed off the Lions practice squad by the Bears in 2000. He has played in 83 regular season contests (18 starts), tallying 153 tackles (100 solo), 10.5 sacks (-66.5 yards), eight passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recovery. He has also played in five postseason games, amassing four tackles (two solo). [READ]
