North Carolina Hires Raiders' Offensive Coordinator

News And Observer - Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator John Shoop has been hired to serve in the same position at the University of North Carolina, the school announced today.

?I developed a great amount of admiration and respect for John?s coaching and teaching abilities after coaching against him and watching him grow from an assistant to a coordinator in the NFL,? UNC head coach Butch Davis said in a statement.

?He not only does an excellent job tutoring the quarterback position, but he develops offenses that emphasize the playmaking ability of the team?s personnel. He and I agree that we want an aggressive and balanced offense that will attract playmakers and compete for a championship.? [READ]
