Cardinals Receive Permission To Interview Chicago's Ron Rivera

Chicago Sun-Times - The Arizona Cardinals fired coach Dennis Green on Monday, and according to a source, have received permission to speak with Ron Rivera, the Bears' defensive coordinator. Rivera is one of six potential coaches the Cardinals have identified and the only defensive coach on the list.

The Cardinals are expected to meet with Houston Texans assistant and former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Sherman on Thursday. Also identified as candidates were Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow, Indianapolis Colts quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell and Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and offensive line coach Russ Grimm.

The bulk of the Cardinals' talent is on offense, and Chow coached quarterback Matt Leinart at USC. [READ]
