Adrian Peterson could receive discipline from the NFL under their personal-conduct policy for striking his four-year-old son.

“This will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy,” the league said in a brief statement.

The Minnesota Vikings independently decided to deactivate Peterson for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.

Many NFL teams have claimed that they can't discipline players without "due process."
