The NFL and the Baltimore Ravens were adamant that they never saw video of Ray Rice striking his then-fiancee Janay Rice before it was released to the public on Monday by TMZ.

TMZ reports the NFL never asked the casino to see footage from the security cameras.

The NFL sent out another statement Tuesday morning, reading, "Security for Atlantic City casinos is handled by the New Jersey State Police. Any videos related to an ongoing criminal investigation are held in the custody of the state police. As we said yesterday: We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator. That video was not made available to us."

TMZ also that Rice's lawyer also had a copy of the video.
