Jadeveon Clowney suffered a concussion during the Houston Texans' preseason.

Clowney was the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Clowney has been cleared and will play in Sunday’s season opener against the visiting Redskins.

Clowney suffered the concussion during a practice against the Broncos in Denver. He did not play in the preseason games against Denver and at home against the 49ers.

Clowney said it took him a week to get through the concussion protocol, and he reiterated he is healthy now.
