The San Francisco 49ers are considering allowing Ray McDonald to play in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys despite his arrest over the weekend on domestic violence charges.

Harbaugh said a decision on McDonald's status will be made on "information and fact."

Harbaugh has previously taken a strong stance against domestic violence.

"Well, there's two very strong principles in play," said Harbaugh. "No. 1 is we will not tolerate domestic violence. And the second principle is the respect for due process."

The NFL recently changed its penalties for domestic violence with a six-game ban for a first offense and a lifetime ban for a second offense.
