The Dallas Cowboys and Dez Bryant have started negotiations on a new contract, though Jerry Jones tempered expectations that something gets done before the start of the season.

“I don’t know that we have any issues relative to timing there, at all, with any of our contracts,” said Jones.

Bryant, who is in the final year of his rookie contract, is scheduled to make $1.78 million this season. After catching 93 passes for 1,233 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns, Bryant earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl.
