| 19th September, 2006 - 5:20 pm |  Press Release - The San Diego Chargers acquired veteran quarterback Billy Volek in a trade from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a 2007 sixth-round draft choice. The draft choice could become a fifth-round choice if Volek participates in 50% of the team?s total offensive plays in ?06.

Volek, currently in his seventh NFL season, has started 10 games over the past three seasons. In those 10 starts, the 30-year old has thrown for 2,789 yards, the most passing yards by any quarterback in his first 10 starts dating back to 1970. In 24 regular-season games played, Volek has completed 312 of 517 pass attempts (.603) for 3,505 yards, 26 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and a quarterback rating of 86.9.
