49ers Dahl Honored With Thomas Herrion Award

NFL.com - One year after Thomas Herrion's death, Harvey Dahl still plays alongside his former teammate.

Herrion's locker in the San Francisco 49ers ' training complex has been covered in glass. The offensive lineman's pads, helmet, jerseys, towels, tape -- even sunflower seeds and gum -- are preserved as inspiration for his former teammates.

Dahl's locker is next to Herrion's spot, right where it has been since Herrion had a heart attack following an exhibition game in Denver on Aug. 20, 2005. Dahl, a fellow lineman who made the 49ers' 53-man roster, has played with Herrion in his memory, even while struggling with his own personal misfortunes. [READ]
