Raiders Sign DT Ed Jasper To A One-Year Deal
27th June, 2005 - 4:53 pm
ESPN - Free agent defensive tackle Ed Jasper, released by the Atlanta Falcons nearly four months ago, has signed a one-year contract with the Oakland Raiders. The deal, completed over the weekend, is expected to be announced by the Raiders later this week.

The addition of Jasper, an eight-year veteran, provides the Raiders not only another experienced defensive lineman, but also additional flexibility as the team continues plans to reincorporate more 4-3 fronts for the coming season. Jasper has started at nose tackle and "under" tackle in the past and might also be able to play some end in the 3-4.

Jasper, 32, signed a one-year contract that includes a roster bonus of $25,000 and a base salary of $665,000, the minimum for a veteran of his tenure. [READ]
