Saints Holding Onto Bennett As Insurance

Post-Dispatch - With Reggie Bush unsigned and veteran Deuce McAllister still rehabbing after tearing a knee ligament last year, the Saints are lying low in regards to Michael Bennett. "We've had several teams express an interest," general manager Mickey Loomis said. "All have made offers, but not good enough yet."

The Rams apparently are among Bennett's suitors, as they seek a backup for Steven Jackson while the status of veteran Marshall Faulk, still gimpy after offseason surgery on both knees, remains uncertain. [READ]
