Colts Reach Extension With Mathis

Indianapolis Star - The Indianapolis Colts have reached a contract extension with defensive end Robert Mathis, locking up half of one of the NFL's premier pass-rush tandems.

Mathis has agreed in principle to a five-year extension, his agent, Hadley Engelhard, said Thursday. Mathis is expected to sign the contract early next week.

Financial terms were not released, but the deal makes Mathis "very wealthy," Engelhard said. "Robert is very happy." [READ]
