Smith Gets Second Interview
2nd June, 2006 - 1:14 pm
Houston Chronicle - Rick Smith was the first general manager candidate invited back for a second interview by owner Bob McNair this week. He arrived with his wife Tiffany on Thursday night and went to dinner with several Texans officials. He will spend much of today at Reliant Stadium.

"I know Rick," said Kubiak, who spent 10 years in Denver with Smith. "It's important that the organization gets to know him well, so they can make a decision off of their knowledge of Rick. He's a great candidate for this position."

The main focus of the second interview will be to dive deeper into a number of topics the group didn't have time to discuss two weeks ago when Smith first visited.

"We'll get into more specifics about the exact responsibilities and make sure we're on the same page there," McNair said. "At some point, we also have to talk about compensation and make sure we have a meeting of the minds. There are a number of things to be discussed." [READ]
