| 28th May, 2006 - 3:27 pm | New York Daily News - Gene Upshaw, the NFLPA's executive director, said he was added to the list of consultants for the search for the NFL's new commissioner at the insistence of Paul Tagliabue and the co-chairs of the search committee, Pittsburgh's Dan Rooney and Carolina's Jerry Richardson.
Upshaw, whose name has been mentioned as a potential candidate, was not asked by the search firm if he wanted the job.
"I got a job," Upshaw said. "I like my job better than his job. It's more important I stay where I am." [READ] |
