Another Extension Likely

JSOnline - The Packers aren't likely to get a decision from quarterback Brett Favre before Saturday so they are expected to extend the deadline for his $3 million roster bonus again.

Thompson would not comment on the Favre situation other than to say there was nothing new to report.

However, there were no signs a decision was imminent and the Saturday deadline for the bonus to be paid will have to be moved back again so the Packers aren't liable for paying the money should Favre wind up playing somewhere else. The extension of the deadline is mostly procedural because the Packers don't plan on releasing or trading Favre. [READ]
