For the 2010 season, our weekly team rankings will be based solely off our Trench Counter formula, which means a completely objective examination. With three weeks of games in the books, teams have some outlier performances (both good and bad) that create some misleading rankings. The Chargers are clearly in dubious position at No. 3 considering they have a 1-2 record, but they fattened up against the Jaguars and controlled the line of scrimmage against the Chiefs and Seahawks in games they were destroyed on special teams. For my money, no team has been better than the Steelers through the first three weeks and their three opponents have a combined 6-0 record in their games not against Pittsburgh. 1.
