Denver Closes In On Abraham Deal

Rocky Mountain News - As they did two years ago, when they shipped Pro Bowl running back Clinton Portis to the Washington Redskins for Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey, the Broncos are closing in on the detail work that will be needed to secure New York Jets defensive end John Abraham, a proven edge rusher.

The biggest point in their favor in working toward the deal is the extension of the league's collective bargaining agreement, which gave teams an additional $7.5 million in salary-cap room to use. [READ]
