Tampa Bay Releases Griese

AP - With the emergence of Chris Simms, Brian Griese became expendable to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers released Griese on Friday, ending the veteran quarterback's two-year run with the team. They also parted ways with linebacker Jeff Gooch and offensive lineman Matt Stinchcomb, saving the team approximately $8 million under the salary cap. [READ]
