NFL Labor Talks Continue

Ticker/Yahoo - The NFL hopes that a three-day reprieve doesn't serve as merely a delay for what could turn into a chaotic situation.

The NFL and the Players Association have until 6 p.m. EST on Sunday to extend the collective bargaining agreement, which runs through 2007. If a deal is not struck, then the salary cap for the 2006 season will stand at $94.5 million. If an agreement is reached, then the cap would inflate as much as $10 million per team.

NFL owners unanimously rejected the union's latest proposal on Thursday, but agreed to extend the deadline for the start of free agency from Friday to Monday. [READ]
