James Brown Jumps From Fox To CBS

Miami Herald - As expected, James Brown left his job as Fox's NFL studio host after 12 years and accepted the same position at CBS on Monday, causing a domino effect of changes.

Greg Gumbel will move from CBS' studio to the No. 2 NFL announcing team with Dan Dierdorf.

Dick Enberg dropped from the No. 2 to No. 3 team and will be paired with Randy Cross. CBS hasn't determined who will team with Kevin Harlan, Cross' former partner. CBS' No. 1 team will remain Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.

Meanwhile, Fox is a long way from determining Brown's replacement. One untraditional option would be shifting Terry Bradshaw to the host job.

Fox and CBS made similar financial offers to Brown, industry sources said. But Brown said he felt a ''comfort level'' returning to CBS, where he worked from 1984 to 1994. He also wanted to resume calling college basketball and NCAA Tournament games -- something Fox couldn't offer. [READ]
