Redskins Deny Interest In Owens

Washington Post - Washington Redskins vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato denied Internet and broadcast reports Wednesday linking the team to Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens.

"Our head coach [Joe Gibbs] said it before," Cerrato said. "We think he's an outstanding player, but he just doesn't fit us."

Earlier in the day, SI.com, the Web site of Sports Illustrated, published a column by Peter King titled "Five Things I Think I Think" in which he predicted that the Redskins would "be a major player in the Terrell Owens sweepstakes before it's all done." [READ]
