Belichick: Moss Is Smartest WR I've Seen
7th November, 2009 - 11:40 am
Providence Journal - Patriots coach Bill Belichick praised wide receiver Randy Moss for his intelligence on Friday.

Belichick says that Moss is the smartest receiver he's ever been around. He claimed that Moss knows not just where he's supposed to be on every play, but also where all of his teammates are supposed to be and what the defense is going to do.

The coach said the receiver's intelligence is matched by only Tom Brady and Lawrence Taylor.

"Lawrence Taylor knew what every player on the field was doing ... It's just easy for them; it's just natural. Some players have a great capacity for it, other guys — you tell them to key one guy, they come off (the field) after the play and you say, 'What did that guy do?' 'Oh, I didn't see him.' Well," Belichick told the Providence Journal.

"Some guys see it, some guys ... Brady, I mean from Day One, you ask what happened after a play and he'd tell you eight things that happened. You go back and watch the film and there are the eight things that he said happened, and that's what happened on the play. You can see every one of them." [READ]
