Smith Backs Kubiak's Move To Houston
13th January, 2006 - 9:02 pm
Houston Chronicle - Receiver Rod Smith's first season on the Broncos' active roster was 1995, the same year Gary Kubiak returned to Denver as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under new coach Mike Shanahan.

During his 11-year career, Smith has progressed from an undrafted free agent from Missouri Southern to one of the most prolific receivers in NFL history with 797 catches and 10,877 yards.

"And I can say without a shred of doubt that I wouldn't have had anywhere near the career I've had without Kubes on my side," said Smith, the Broncos' 35-year-old team leader.

"Kubes" is Kubiak, who will become the Texans' new head coach after the Broncos lose in the playoffs or win the Super Bowl. [READ]
