Patten Out For Season Following Surgery

AP - Washington Redskins receiver David Patten is out for the season after undergoing surgery on his right knee Friday.

Patten had been feeling irritation in the knee for a couple of weeks and had missed practices but not games. The pain grew worse this week, and doctors diagnosed a cartilage injury that required surgery.

"We were hoping that it was going to be something where it was just cleaned out, but they had to do some kind of repair to it," coach Joe Gibbs said Friday. "I don't think it's anything serious." [READ]
