Pioneer Press - Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson's performance during the 2008 regular season has earned him quite a bit of money thanks to incentive triggers in his contract.

Peterson signed a five-year contract before last season, his rookie season.

He earned a $3.9 million escalator for the 2011 season for topping 701 rushing yards as a rookie and by rushing for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons.

Peterson tacked on $2.5 million to his 2010 base salary, and he added $1 million to his 2011 compensation by rushing for more than 1,300 yards this season. [READ]
