Source: AFL To Cancel 2009 Season, Aim To Return In 2010

Cleveland plain Dealer - The Arena Football League will shut down for 2009 but plans to reorganize and return in 2010, The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported on Sunday night.

Citing a league source, the newspaper said that an official announcement will come on Monday.

After reports that the league would shut down, officials held a conference call last week and announced that no consensus had been reached and that talks would continue in hopes of coming up with a better business model. [READ]
