Tampa Selected To Host 2009 Super Bowl

Yahoo! - The city of Tampa Bay was once again selected to host the Super Bowl on Wednesday. Their next turn will come in 2009.

They last hosted the Super Bowl in 2001 when the Ravens defeated the Giants.

``We could not have done it without the Glazers. We just want to thank them for everything they have done,'' Tampa mayor Pam Iorio said in Washington, D.C., where NFL owners are meeting this week.

``We have a city that is just crazy about sports. It is a wonderful partnership that we have had with the NFL since 1984.'' [READ]
