After 11,185 votes we?ve finally come down to the ?Be an NFL GM? Finals. The AFC will be represented by Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, and the NFC has sent Saints rookie running back Reggie Bush. Both players have cruised through the field up until this point, but which will be named RealGM?s 2006 Franchise Cornerstone?

Without further ado, here are your 2006 Franchise Cornerstone finalists?

The Case for Peyton

If you?re looking for a quarterback whose head is 110% into the game of football, Manning is your man. Peyton is the best pure quarterback in all of football, and he?s still only a season removed from breaking Dan Marino?s single-season touchdown record. He?s the smartest quarterback on the field, and you can never doubt that he?s giving his all to will his team to victory. He also makes some pretty funny commercials.

The Case against Peyton

The only real case you can make against Peyton is that he has difficulty winning in the ?big game.? As great as he has been in his nine-year career he?s yet to make a trip to the Super Bowl and he?s not getting any younger. Manning can also tend to over think things on the football field, particularly when he?s blitzed. He reads a defense like no other before the snap, but sometimes he thinks too much and doesn?t feel the game.

The Case For Reggie

Reggie Bush is one of the most hyped rookies in the history of the NFL, and rightfully so. He dazzled his way to the Heisman Trophy in his last season at USC, and just fell short of winning a national title against Vince Young and the Texas Longhorns. Bush is a freakish athlete whose athleticism is only matched by his blazing speed and cool charisma. He is the kind of player who could end up winning games, and putting millions of people in the stands at the same time.

The Case Against Reggie

He might be the most athletic of all NFL running backs, but Reggie?s yet to prove that he can be the most durable. At USC, he shared carries with fellow rookie LenDale White, and often handed the ball over to White near the end zone. The question remains as to whether Bush can carry a full rushing load in the NFL, and whether or not, he?s durable enough to keep going after he?s been tackled thirty times.
