Over the past few months I have been providing you with my take on the highs and lows from the NFL each week. This week I?m going to change things up and give you my predictions for the weekend?s Wild Card match-ups.

Washington Redskins (10-6) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5)

Even though quarterback Mark Brunell has extensive playoff experience, it won?t matter this week against the talented Buccaneers. Tampa Bay will be well prepared, and their young running back Cadillac Williams will shred the injured Washington Redskin defense.

Prediction: Tampa Bay 23, Washington 14

Jacksonville Jaguars (12-4) at New England Patriots (10-6)

Injured Jacksonville quarterback Byron Leftwich has vowed he will return, but can he lead the Jaguars to an upset victory over the defending champions? Not with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick running things in New England. Brady led the NFL with 4,110 pass yards this season. It?s hard to go against a team like the Patriots in January.

Prediction: New England 31, Jacksonville 17

Carolina Panthers (11-5) at New York Giants (11-5)

The Giants own the NFL?s third ranked offense, while the Panthers have the league?s fifth ranked defense. What will the difference maker be this weekend? Steve Smith. He?s the NFL?s leading receiver, and the Panthers lethal downfield weapon. While Tiki Barber will try his damnedest, the NFL will have to wait for the possibility of a Manning vs. Manning Super Bowl battle.

Prediction: Carolina 24, New York 20

Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5) at Cincinnati Bengals (11-5)

The Steelers may have made an impressive run at the end of the season to make the playoffs, but their run will soon end at the hands of the Bengals. Carson Palmer will replicate his shootout performance from Week 13, as the Bengals will dominate the Steelers in Cincinnati. Palmer, the NFL leader with 32 touchdown passes, will carry his teammates to victory.

Prediction: Cincinnati 42, Pittsburgh 31
