It's finally here. The first Sunday of the 2009 NFL season is over and it's time to crown RealGM's 'Be The GM' champion.

More than a month after the contest began, there are just two men standing -- Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Peterson had absolutely no trouble dispatching of Larry Fitzgerald in the Final Four, earning 80% of the vote against the Cardinals receiver.

Brady, however, had a much tougher battle. Of the 700 ballots that were cast at the time of this posting, Brady has received 51% of the votes against Peyton Manning.

Why Brady Is A Franchise Player

There is absolutely no denying Brady's ability. He's coming off major reconstructive knee surgery, but few doubt that he'll come back with a vengeance in 2009. He attempted just 11 passes last season due to the injury he suffered in Week One against the Chiefs, but tossed a record 50 touchdowns in the season prior when the Patriots fell one win shy of a perfect year.

Brady is never listed any lower than second on the list of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but is sometimes put on top (ahead of the infamous Peyton Manning). He's still in his prime at 32, and has less wear on his tires than Manning when you consider the season he missed (2008) and his rookie year (2000) when he threw just three passes.

New England doesn't have much behind him, which leads many to believe that he's close to 100%. Ice water runs through his veins, and he is rather selfless when it comes to winning as well.

Why Peterson Is A Franchise Player

A small essay could be written about why you should choose Peterson, but I don't think a lengthy explanation is needed. He's one of the game's best players, and just two years into his career many believe that he will go down in history as one of the greatest to ever take the field.

Peterson is a powerful runner, but also possesses an extra gear that allows him to break off exceptionally long runs. Watching him break one is similar to listening to your band's favorite song -- no matter how many times you hear it, it never gets old.

He sees developing holes well, cutting in and out of spots without losing much speed. There were questions about his durability heading into his second season, but he appeared in all sixteen regular-season contests in 2008. He carried the ball at least 17 times in each of those games en route to 1,760 yards and ten touchdowns.
