Raiders Will Take Moral Victory, For Now
The Raiders lost their Monday opener to San Diego in excruciating fashion, but they were the better team for 59 of the 60 minutes and here are the positives to walk away with.
2009 Season Preview: Oakland Raiders
The Raiders are a tough cloud to forecast. There is a great deal of potential here on defense and with JaMarcus Russell and the running backs, but it's tough to give them the benefit of doubt until they prove it.
Auditing The Oakland Raiders 2008 Season
This season will be remembered for the Lane Kiffin-Al Davis saga more than the dominant play of Nnamdi Asomugha, the emergence of Zach Miller, and the debut of Darren McFadden.
An NFL Answer To Dancing With The Stars
No matter how many retired NFL players appear on Dancing With the Stars, football fans still won’t watch, but at some point doesn't the league need to step in?
Oakland's True Hollywood Story
Some take Al Davis’ assessments of Lane Kiffin as hyperbole. In reality, Lane Kiffin really isn’t Lane Kiffin. But this mystery man, fueled by revenge, had a plan to bring down the Al Davis Empire and sabotage the Oakland Raiders.
Raiders Bounce Back, McFadden Ahead Of Peterson's Pace
Following Week 1's excruciating loss on Monday night against the Broncos, it looked mathematical that the Raiders would finish the season with at least 10 losses for the sixth consecutive year.
2008 Season Preview: Oakland Raiders
How quickly JaMarcus Russell is able to translate his physical tools to the NFL game will go a long way towards whether these Raiders challenge for 8 wins or challenge for the 1st overall pick in 2009.
Commitment To Excellence?
The Raiders ranked sixth in the NFL with an average of 130.4 yards per game on the ground. One would assume that the running game wasn’t an area that needed much of an upgrade via the draft.
Grading The Deal: Raiders Acquire DeAngelo Hall
The tandem of DeAngelo Hall and Nnamdi Asomugha will become one of the league’s toughest secondary duos next season.
Grading The Deal: Walker Signs With Oakland
The combination of JaMarcus Russell’s incredibly strong arm and the speed and skills of his newest receiver could make for quite the pairing. Of course, that all depends of the health of Javon Walker’s knee.
2007 Season Preview: Oakland Raiders
I am a believer in young Head Coach Lane Kiffin, and I have too much respect for the Raiders defense to call for another 2-14 season. But it’s not going to be easy to surpass that win total despite a schedule with a lot of down opponents. Still, it’s real hard to be that bad two years in a row. 4 wins and 12 losses.
2007 Draft Review: Oakland Raiders
It appears Al Davis finally accepted that his Raiders needed an overhaul, not another facelift. They were very active, moving several picks and slots around to pick the players they wanted. It starts with JaMarcus Russell and his legendary arm strength.
Ryan’s Hope: Raiders Make Right Choice
The Oakland Raiders are at a pivotal point in their history and as of late, it has been a very low point. In fact, if it gets any lower, maverick owner Al Davis risks his very legacy in a league he helped shape and ran roughshod over for the last forty some years.
Oakland Raiders: Five Players To Watch
The Raiders are 2-8 and are finding new ways to lose every week. With only six games left in what has become another year in the path back to excellence; here are five players to keep an eye on the rest of the way.
Quarter Report: Oakland Raiders
Like Randy Moss, we want out of Oakland. Unlike Moss, we will stay without a fuss and actually care about keeping up our end of the bargain, which is to provide updates on our adopted team.
Predictions And Season Lay-Out
In the Raiders, Benton sees a 6-10 team that will struggle to win on the road and beat better teams and since they are in the lower half of teams in the NFL, that signals another double-digit loss year for the boys in black.
Oakland Raiders: Ready To Rock And Roll
After two sub-par preseason games, the Oakland Raiders have seemed to turn it around as they have run their record to 4-0. In our continued series on our adoption of the Raiders, we take a look at five trends that could carry into the regular season and the return of one big arm quarterback.
2006 NFL Team Preview: Oakland Raiders
Last season all the pundits kept proclaiming the Raiders “the best lousy team in football”. This year they’re almost certain to be lousy again, but I doubt you hear the Pyrrhic praise. I do like a lot of their pieces, and a run at .500 isn’t out of the question. But with the 2 extra preseason games in which to get more injuries and a brutal schedule, this team is going to have to play near flawlessly to win more than 6 games. I see them being about 2-9 and then finishing strong, winding up 6-10.
Randy Moss New Team New Attitude?
No one will ever mistake Randy Moss for a choir boy in his years with the Minnesota Vikings. Randy had a up and down realtionship with ownership, fans and players alike. Coming out of Marshall University everyone knew Randy Moss carried some baggage with him.
