2009 Season Preview: Dallas Cowboys
This could very well be another season where the Cowboys surge to a strong start, then try to hang on for dear life as the schedule toughens and the pressure mounts.
Dallas Cowboys Draft History
The Cowboys are either unapologetically loved or hated, but one thing they always are to both is interesting. That is also true with Jerry Jones sitting like Seth Bullock at the trigger of the draft.
Auditing The Dallas Cowboys 2008 Season
The Cowboys were as talented as just about any team in football, but turnovers on offense and a defense prone to giving up big plays ended the final season at Texas Stadium far earlier than most expected.
Jerry, Stop Gambling On Bad 'Boys
They say the hole in the roof of Texas Stadium is in case God wants to look in on the Dallas Cowboys. Right now it is best if He shields his eyes and looks away.
Grading The Deal: Cowboys Pay High Price For WR Insurance
The price is incredibly steep to essentially rent a wide receiver for 10 weeks plus the playoffs, but Roy Williams is very likely to remain in Dallas as Terrell Owens' eventual replacement.
Dallas Leading A Deep And Difficult NFC East
The NFC East sent three teams to the playoffs in 2007, and after one week of action the division is looking like one of the strongest in the NFL once again.
2008 Season Preview: Dallas Cowboys
Once again, this is the best team in the NFC on paper, but once again the games aren’t decided on paper. The injury bug, soap opera drama, difficult schedule, and negative karma for adding Pacman Jones all conspire to derail the assumption of greatness.
Dallas Pre-Draft Summit
Here at RealGM our heart beats thanks to the thousands upon thousands of posters that frequent our forums on a daily basis. With the NFL season still months from kicking off, but the ever-important NFL Draft just weeks away, what better time than now to check in with the people who care about football even more than some of the players on the field?
Romo Or Romeo – The Choice is His
All of the up-in-arms disgust about the decision by Tony Romo to take Jessica Simpson, his current inamorata, to Cabo San Lucas before their game with the Giants reveals something in the starkest of terms – we expect more out of athletes than almost anyone else. Indeed, we expect more of them than we do of ourselves.
Will Momentum Matter?
The idea is to build momentum heading into the playoffs. The stretch run for Dallas resembled going from pavement to off-roading in a Lamborghini. Things got rough quickly as the Cowboys lost two of their last three games. What was clear in those games is that the Cowboys offense goes as far as Romo takes them.
Passed Over Players Make Up NFC's Best Offense
The Cowboys haven’t drafted a single offensive player in the first round since 1997 when they selected David LaFleur, a tight end out of LSU. But how did they still manage to build the best offense in the NFC?
Owens Vs. Moss Overshadowing Game?
With Terrell Owens’ opening salvo, this game has become T.O. vs. Randy Moss. It will be a game of who finishes with better numbers. The game is in Dallas, where country music is king. But the only way there will be dueling banjos will be if they’re swung like clubs.
2007 Season Preview: Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are a toughie to predict, because they truly are good enough to win the NFC but also have enough questions and issues to wind up last in the NFC East. This group has underachieved badly in the last two seasons under legendary coach Bill Parcells, and now they bring in Wade Phillips, the defensive version of Norv Turner.
Parcells Leaves Full Cupboard
Who will replace the Big Tuna and help keep the winning ways that haven’t been seen at Valley Ranch since the days of Jimmy Johnson? Here are four coaches who could do the job and deserve an interview in this process.
Dreary Eyes In Dallas
As Lito Sheppard fell into the end zone to put a clamp on the Eagles victory over the Cowboys, two things came to my mind. Why was that last pass not thrown to Terrell Owens? The one play that would have destroyed the Eagles fans never happened. I'm not so sure that T.O. had any celebrations cooked up, but just the sight of his feet touching the end zone while he held on to the football would have ripped the hearts out of the Eagles faithful.
When in Romo?
If Tony Romo is the answer in Big D, the Cowboys are asking the wrong question.
Post-Draft Analysis: Cowboys Grab A.J. Hawk Lite
Bill Parcells and company are leaving this draft successful; make that a second straight good year. I see several – and I mean that – players who will be in Cowboy uniforms for a long time. You could see from a mile away that Bobby Carpenter is a good fit on Cowboys. Overshadowed at Ohio State, Carpenter is a lesser version of AJ Hawk, which is something I mean as a compliment.
Triplets Leading Their Final Drive
On Monday Night, in the stadium they grew up in and thrived, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, and Troy Aikman will join other Cowboys’ legends as they take their rightful place in the Ring of Honor. In doing so, the Cowboys will officially close the door to their dynasty in the 1990’s and reopen the discussion of how great this group really was.
Stuck In Neutral
Bill Parcells has a lot in common with Phil Jackson. Besides the championships, both are known for taking veterans and molding them into champions. But with this Cowboys team, Parcells is basically signing off on a rebuilding, just like Jackson.

Grading The Deal: Jets Make Deal For Edwards
Braylon Edwards will join Jericho Cotchery to form an elite wideout tandem, at least on paper.
