This was a rookie class like none other. The young passers especially were impressive. Atlanta's Matt Ryan wasn't a total surprise after watching him play for Boston College, but I completely missed the target on Baltimore's Joe Flacco. The jump from small school prospect to professionals wasn't too daunting for the former Delaware Blue Hen. Give credit to the coaching staff for developing Flacco, but Joe gets the lion's share of praise. Flacco can hit me in the face with a Nerf football for getting him wrong...
While on the subject of being wrong, Kyle Orton can deliver the same punishment that Flacco has. I underestimated you, Orton. Just explain to me why you Purdue Boilermaker quarterbacks are slow to develop...

Is it any surprise that the Detroit Lions finished 0-16 with little hope of a dramatic improvement in 2009? They promoted from within and asked to interview Dallas offensive coordinator Jason Garrett for their open head coach position. Just days ago, Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo said the offense was "exposed" by Philadelphia, and receiver Terrell Owens criticized Garrett for how he used the team's skill players. At least the Lions won't draft a receiver with the first pick overall, right?...
Since Dallas was part of the subject, how 'bout them Cowboys? Another second half collapse, more players flapping their gums, owner Jerry Jones getting involved to the detriment of those he argues against, and Owens seems to get closer and closer to throwing a teammate under the bus and completely alienating himself from the team. If T.O. is still on the team next year, then pass the popcorn..
After a 6-2 start, the Washington Redskins' season turned upside-down as they won just two games in the second half. But I'm not writing them off for next year. Washington was defeated by Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Dallas, and New York in the second half of the season. Those four teams combined for a 44-20 record. It's typical for a playoff team to take a step back after a coaching change. Now that Jim Zorn and his players are familiar with each other, Washington could take a few steps forward next season...
I would had never thought I would interview four-time Super Bowl winner Bill Romanowski about becoming a participant on "Dancing With the Stars." You know what they say: there are six degrees of separation between any two people on this planet. Since Selma Hayek and Halle Berry are taken, I'm turning my attention towards Michelle Rodriguez if she's single. Holla at a brotha!
