No one will ever mistake Randy Moss for a choir boy in his years with the Minnesota Vikings. Randy had a up and down realtionship with ownership, fans and players alike. Coming out of Marshall University everyone knew Randy Moss carried some baggage with him.
So it should come as no shocked that Randy was destined to make headlines in the NFL but for all the wrong reasons. After 7 years of turmoil I guess the ownership of the Vikings determined enough is enough and Randy Moss was shipped to the Oakland raiders. Now this could be a perfect fit for Randy Moss.
Randy Moss and Al Davis now that's a pair made in heaven. Al Davis knows talent and has a knack for taking players that have had troubled past and make them even better players than they were before they came. You can't knock Al Davis success with troubled ball players.
The real question is will Randy Moss fit in? The system that the Raiders run is perfect for Randy Moss. With Jerry Porter anchoring the other side of the field this gives the Oakland Raiders a perfect set of receivers for Norm Turner's style of offense.
Now will Randy Moss be a model citizen in Oakland, I don't think that will ever happen as long as he's a football player. What the Raiders will get from Randy could very well be the best receiver in the NFL today.
In reality isn't that why Al Davis got Randy Moss to win football games, not to be a spokesperson for the Oakland raiders. So in the end Al Davis could be laughing all the way to the bank or by adding another Lombardi trophy to his mantel. No matter what happens be prepared for a wild ride in Oakland. |
