Being that this is the debut article of my weekly predictions, I haven?t been wrong yet. Every week, I will be providing predictions to you poolies out there. That being said, here?s a look at this week?s predictions.

Featured Predictions

Miami at Pittsburgh:

The Steelers will be without starting quarterback Ben Roethlesburger while he recovers from an emergency appendectomy. With no Jerome Bettis to run the ball, combined with Daunte Culpepper?s debut in a Dolphins uniform, expect Miami to win this game, although it will be close.

Prediction: Miami by a fieldgoal

Atlanta at Carolina:

There is only so much a great quarterback can do for a team. No matter how good Michael Vick is, he lacks a good supporting team. It will be another battle between defensive end Julius Peppers and Vick to which Peppers has absolutely owned him. This should stay the same come Sunday.

Prediction, Carolina by 10 pts

Dallas at Jacksonville:

If there is one thing true about Terrell Owens, it?s that he?s great when he starts with a new club. When the 49ers got sick of him, they sent him to Philly. He then helped bring Philly to an impressive regular season and eventually to the Super Bowl. Dallas hasn?t grown sick of him just yet. In week 1, give the edge to Dallas on this one.

Prediction: Dallas by 10

Indianapolis at NY Giants:

This game will mark the first time that brothers Eli and Peyton will go one-on-one in NFL competition. While the Giants should be strong this season, The edge has to go to the Colts. They?re even stronger than the were last year, coming off a 14-2 regular season.

Prediction: Indianapolis by a touchdown

Minnesota at Washington:

Getting rid of a quality quarterback like Daunte Culpepper and replacing him with Brad Johnson can?t be seen as much of an improvement over a season where you went 9-7. Washington?s busy off season should pay dividends, especially after acquiring RB T.J Duckett to help out until Clinton Portis is healthy enough to return.

Prediction: Washington by two touchdowns

San Diego at Oakland:

All the pressure is on Philip Rivers of San Diego to succeed. San Diego could be great, but they most certainly should beat Oakland who recently brought back Jeff George. If that?s not a sign of desperation on the raiders, I don?t know what is.

Prediction: San Diego by 10.
