Washington Confirms Robert Griffin III As 2015 Starting QB

Robert Griffin III will be Washington's starting quarterback on opening day.

"It's up to us to make sure he plays better," said Jay Gruden while confirming Griffin's status.

Washington also started Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy at quarterback last season.

Washington sent a letter to season ticket-holders and listed key players of the francise while leaving out Robert Griffin III.

"The Washington (Football Team) thank(s) you for your continued loyalty and support. (Washington) fans are the best in the NFL and we greatly appreciate your dedication over the years.

"Head coach Jay Gruden, new general manager Scot McCloughan, and defensive doordinator Joe Barry will lead a nucleus of Ryan Kerrigan, DeSean Jackson, plus Pro Bowlers Trent Williams and Alfred Morris. The (team is) poised to rebound next season!"
