Oct 22, 2014 2:53 PM

Chris Johnson will undergo surgery for the first time of his career as he is set to repair a torn meniscus.

Johnson was bothered by the knee for most of the season.

Johnson is owed $8 million by the Tennessee Titans for 2014, but they are unlikely to pay that figure.

Whisenhunt Still Needs To Further Study Jake Locker

Sep 16, 2014 8:29 PM

Ken Whisenhunt is unsure still if Jake Locker is the answer at quarterback for the Tennessee Titans.

“I haven’t studied him as much as I need to,” Whisenhunt said. “I have seen good, and I have seen bad. No question he has ability, and I have heard good things about him. The question is, can he harness the ability, and can he be consistent?”

Locker has a 57.2 completion rate in his three NFL seasons.

Titans Hire Ken Whisenhunt

Sep 17, 2014 11:27 AM

The Tennessee Titans have hired Ken Whisenhunt as head coach.

Whisenhunt spent the 2013 season as offensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers.

Whisenhunt was previously head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

The Detroit Lions also considered Whisenhunt a leading candidate.

“I have a lot of respect for Ken as a coach and as an offensive mind,” said Titans General Manager Ruston Webster. “The traits that stand out to me when identifying him as our next coach – he is intelligent, has a track record with quality offenses and head coaching success. I really enjoyed our meeting on Friday night in San Diego and we share similar philosophies about the game. Additionally, we have several mutual colleagues that have spoken highly to me about Ken both as a coach and as a person. I am excited about Ken joining us and the future of the Titans.”

Chris Johnson Interested In Moving On From Titans

Sep 25, 2014 3:14 AM

Chris Johnson's future with the Tennessee Titans is unclear entering the offseason.

"I feel like if they are not going to use me the way I am supposed to be used and let me be the horse, then I would rather them let me move on. Their money would be wasted on me," Johnson told The Tennessean. "I feel like if they are not going to use me right, let somebody get me that's going to use me the right way."

Johnson rushed for 1,077 yards in 2013.

Johnson is scheduled to make $8 million in 2014.

"I want to help the team win," Johnson said. "People say, 'He is not worth the $10 million. He is not worth the $8 million.' I feel like if you give me $8 million, let me earn it. At crucial times of the game, I shouldn't be on the sideline watching."

Locker Wants To Compete For Titans' QB Job

Sep 16, 2014 8:36 PM

So long as he's in the mix to be the Titans' quarterback in 2014, Jake Locker won't have any objection to life after coach Mike Munchak being fired.

Locker was asked during a radio interview with The Wake Up Zone in Nashville how he would feel about competing for the starting quarterback job.

"I'm OK with that," Locker said. "As long as I get the opportunity to compete for it, I'll be thankful for it."
