Marvin Lewis has some advice for longtime friend Dirk Koetter, who is in his first season as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"Throw deep," Koetter told the Idaho State Journal.

"I"m serious," Koetter added. "Marvin's a defensive coach. I'm an offensive coach. He said offenses don't throw deep enough."

Lavonte David believes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could have a special defense this season.

"I think we can be the best defense ever, to be honest. I'm going to go out there and say it," David said.

The 2002 Buccaneers allowed just 12.2 points per game en route to a Super Bowl win.

"Yeah, I'm going to say it. Put it on me. I'm going to say it," he said. "NFL history, Bucs history, anything. That's just the type of attitude we have."
