Super Bowl LV Moved To Tampa; L.A. To Host SB LVI

May 24, 2017 12:09 PM

The NFL is delaying the Super Bowl's return to Los Angeles.

League owners voted unanimously Tuesday to relocate the site of Super Bowl LV in 2021 from L.A. to Tampa's Raymond James Stadium. The vote was held days after it was revealed the opening of the Rams and Chargers' joint stadium would be delayed by a year.

Owners voted for the yet-to-be completed stadium to host Super Bowl LVI in 2022.

"From our standpoint, we felt this was an appropriate thing to do," Roger Goodell said. "We were fortunate that Tampa had a very competitive presentation when they bid on the Super Bowl earlier [in 2016]. So this was a solution the membership got on very quickly."

Rain Delays Chargers-Rams Stadium To 2020

May 19, 2017 5:53 PM

Heavy rainfall in Los Angeles has delayed the highly anticipated, $2.6 billion stadium in Inglewood by a year.

The new stadium, which will be shared by the Chargers and Rams, will now open in 2020 instead of 2019. In the meantime, the Rams will play at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for an additional year and the Chargers will have one more season at StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Keenan Allen Ahead Of Schedule In Rehab From Torn ACL

May 17, 2017 7:32 AM

Keenan Allen has returned to the practice field ahead of schedule after tearing his ACL eight months ago.

Allen described himself as "80 to 85 percent" healthy in April.

"We've been real cautious with him," Los Angeles Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. "We're just working him in right now on a limited basis. But he's full go."

Allen has appeared in just nine games the last two seasons, losing half of his 2015 campaign to a lacerated kidney.
