Chargers GM: Running Game Has To Get Better

Apr 25, 2016 9:51 AM

The San Diego Chargers aren't ready to give up on Melvin Gordon, last year's first-round pick, but general manager Tom Telesco says the team's running game "has to get better."

"I don't think we've ever said (the running game) wasn't important," Telesco added. "We just weren't good enough at it last year."

San Diego used more than 20 offensive line combinations in 2015, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Goodell Attends Rally In Support Of New San Diego Stadium

Apr 24, 2016 11:27 PM

A year ago, with the Chargers not interested in a proposal for a new stadium in Mission Valley, the NFL sought a stadium project the team could enthusiastically support.

On Saturday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell traveled to San Diego at the invitation of Chargers chairman Dean Spanos to attend a rally of about 4,000 fans. Goodell was there to support the start of a signature-gathering effort for a citizens' initiative effort to build a $1.8 billion stadium and convention center expansion downtown, next to the Padres' Petco Park.

Chargers Receiving Interest In No. 3 Pick

Apr 20, 2016 2:03 PM

The San Diego Chargers are receiving interest in the third overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Titans traded the No. 1 overall pick to the Rams last week, and the Browns, who hold the No. 2 overall pick, are "actively shopping" that pick.

The Rams are expected to pick a quarterback while any team trading up to No. 2 would presumably do so to also select a quarterback.

Laremy Tunsil, who is widely considered the top overall prospect, would be available at No. 3 under that scenario.
