Jan 29, 2016 4:59 PM

Sheldon Adelson wants to build a $1 billion domed stadium on the UNLV campus and is meeting with the owner of the Oakland Raiders, company officials confirmed Thursday.

Adelson has scheduled a Friday meeting in Las Vegas with Raiders owner Mark Davis.

Davis has long stated that remaining in Oakland is his primary goal.

The Raiders will almost certainly at least play the 2016 season in Oakland.

NFL Approves Relocation Of Rams To Los Angeles

Jan 13, 2016 4:58 PM

The St. Louis Rams will relocate to Los Angeles after a 30-2 vote by the owners.

The San Diego Chargers have an option to join them in the Inglewood project.

The Rams will open up their new stadium in time for the 2019 season.

The Oakland Raiders have an option to relocate if the Chargers decide not to relocate within the next year.

The Rams spent 21 years in St. Louis and won one Super Bowl while losing a second.

Roger Goodell declined to reveal the relocation fee the Rams agree to pay to the other 31 owners but it had been reported previously of being $550 million per team.

NFL Owners Prefer Inglewood With Two Teams Proposal

Jan 12, 2016 8:41 PM

The NFL's six-owner committee on Los Angeles opportunities recommended the project headed by the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders to build a $1.7 billion stadium in Carson, California.

The Orange County Register reported the committee made its recommendation on a 5-1 vote, with Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt opposing the recommendation.

Any move must be approved by 24 of the NFL's 26 owners.

The Rams presented their project on Inglewood first, followed by the Chargers and Raiders.

Owners will vote between the Carson proposal and Jerry Jones' idea of pairing the Rams with the Chargers in Inglewood.

Update from Sam Farmer: After the first round of votes, the Rams' project in Inglewood with a to be determined team received more votes than the Raiders and Chargers in Carson but that plan didn't receive 24 votes.

The NFL will now meet with the Rams, Chargers and Raiders individually in hopes of making a deal to dissolve the pact between the Raiders and Chargers.

According to Judy Battista, there is strong opposition to moving the Raiders to Los Angeles among owners. If the Raiders step aside, the NFL will help the improve their situation in Oakland.

Jerry Jones' Rams-Chargers L.A. Prospoal Could Be Preferred Plan

Jan 11, 2016 3:57 PM

The Committee on Los Angeles Opportunities is considering whether to add Jerry Jones' proposal to the agenda for its ownership meeting.

Jones is proposing a forced marriage of the Chargers and Rams in Los Angeles.

“The league needed a third option,” an unnamed executive told Kevin Acee. “Jerry’s plan is the only one with a chance to get 24 votes — if it gets on the ballot.”

Stan Kroenke has wanted the Rams to be the lone tenant in Inglewood, while the Chargers' plan has been to move to Carson with the Raiders.

Goodell Calls Plans To Stop L.A. Relocation 'Inadequate'

Jan 11, 2016 12:39 PM

Roger Goodell said stadium solutions to keep the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams from relocating were "unsatisfactory" and "inadequate."

Goodell sent the report to teams Saturday in anticipation of a potential vote on the L.A. relocation issue during the NFL owners meetings in Houston on Tuesday and Wednesday. Owners would decide whether an NFL team or teams will move to Los Angeles for the first time in over 20 years.

The Chargers, Raiders and Rams all filed relocation applications Monday, the first day teams were eligible.

The Chargers and Raiders are partnering on a $1.7 billion facility in Carson, California, while Rams owner Stan Kroenke plans to build a $1.86 billion stadium in Inglewood.

Rams' Inglewood Stadium Could Accommodate 100,000 Fans

Jan 6, 2016 1:22 PM

The St. Louis Rams' relocation bid to Inglewood says it is vastly superior to the rival plan in Carson.

Although the developers at the Inglewood site have long said their stadium would be ready for the 2018 season, the Rams' application targets 2019 as the proposed start date. There was no elaboration on the change for the $1.86-billion project that the Rams describe as "shovel ready."

The venue would be capable of hosting two teams with 70,240 fixed seats and accommodate another 30,000 people in standing-room-only areas for large events.

There would be 274 suites, 16,300 premium seats and 12,675 dedicated surface parking spaces -— all numbers the Rams say exceed those in the Carson proposal.

"We believe an Inglewood Super Bowl could generate as much as $50 million more in league revenue than the Carson proposed stadium based on increases in seat capacity, premium seating and total number of suites," the application said.

The Rams argue that they have the strongest L.A. fan base of the three teams seeking to relocate.

"Polling throughout the relocation process has consistently shown the Rams as a single team have more fan support than the Chargers and Raiders combined," the application said.
