Sean Payton confirmed he will remain head coach of the New Orleans Saints.

"I'll be here as long as they'll have me."

"I know it appeared there was a looming decision. But I think this is really me saying again, 'Here I am, and nothing's changing,'" Payton said at his news conference.

Payton has two seasons remaining on his contract and he's yet to agree to an extension.

There were several teams interested in trading for Payton.

The Seattle Seahawks finished the 2015 season ranked first in Football Outsiders' Total DVOA following their blowout victory of the Arizona Cardinals.

The Seahawks have now finished first in DVOA for four straight seasons, which is the first time the feat has been accomplished.

The Cincinnati Bengals rank second in Total DVOA ahead of the Cardinals, Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs.

These were also the five teams, the Seahawks, Bengals, Cardinals, Panthers and Chiefs, to finish the 2015 regular season in the top-10 in both Offensive and Defensive DVOA.

The Indianapolis Colts expressed interest in Sean Payton on the same day they negotiated a contract extension with Chuck Pagano.

Pagano was given a four-year extension Monday night.

Teams technically are not allowed to negotiate with Payton, who has two years remaining on his contract with the Saints.

Payton and Saints brass met extensively Monday to discuss his future in New Orleans. They are expected to continue talks on Tuesday.
