Prosecutor Claims Hernandez Killed Two Men Over Spilled Drink

Dec 2, 2014 4:51 AM

Aaron Hernandez pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to seven charges in the 2012 shooting that killed Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado.

Prosecutor Patrick Haggan said that in the months leading up the shooting, Hernandez had become increasingly convinced that people "had been testing, trying or otherwise disrespecting him when he frequented nightclubs in the area."

Haggan said that Hernandez killed them because one of the men bumped into him while dancing at a Boston nightclub causing him to spill his drink.

Brady: Nothing I Like Doing That's Close To Football

Oct 31, 2014 6:38 AM

Tom Brady was not surprised by the New England Patriots' decision to take Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round.

“I felt like I had a pretty good idea we’d take a quarterback,” Brady tells Peter King of The MMQB.com. “Coach Belichick doesn’t care who the quarterback is here. He’s always going to play the guy who he thinks gives him the best chance to win. It’s not my role to choose players here, thankfully. And this is not the first time they’ve taken another quarterback either. There’s no entitlement in the NFL. I don’t expect to be given anything. I just hope I’m the one most entitled to play that position for a long time here.”

Brady also plans to continue his career for as long as possible and credits his offseason regimen for making him feel physically better in his late thirties than he did in his mid-twenties.

“There’s nothing that can wake me up at 5 o’clock in the morning on a Thursday in May like getting ready for a day of football. I want to play a long time. There’s nothing I like doing that’s close to football. What’ll I do when I’m done playing? I don’t know, but I know it won’t be nearly as fun. I can tell you neither me nor Peyton [Manning] will probably be very far from the game of football when we’re done.”

Aaron Hernandez Indicted On 2012 Double Murder

Jul 28, 2014 10:43 PM

Aaron Hernandez has been indicted on double murder charges from a 2012 incident.

In the 2012 case, victims Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado were shot as they sat in a car in Boston's South End. Police have said they were shot by someone who drove up alongside in an SUV and opened fire.

Boston police have written in an affidavit there is probable cause to believe Hernandez was driving a vehicle used in the shooting and "may have been the shooter."

Hernandez signed his extension with the New England Patriots just a few weeks after the incident.

Patriots' Scouting Report On Manziel: Comes From 'Outlaw Bloodlines'

Nov 17, 2014 7:34 AM

Bro Bible published an alleged internal scouting report from the New England Patriots on Johnny Manziel.

The report commended Manziel's skills as a football player, but brought up questions in regards to his character.

Here's an excerpt:

"Doesn't study the game, said to know about 60% of the offense in '12, never watches film; one source said only time he watched film during '12 was before ALUN. Comes from 'outlaw bloodlines', mom moved the family to Kerrville to get away from father's wild family. Father's family is said to be very shady people, always into something, they are the root of Johnny's personality. 'What you see on TV and how he is portrayed, that's him; but when you talk to him, you'll like him'. Coaches love his tuffs/competes, they want to go to war with him, but 'Johnny will be Johnny' during the week. Knows how to scheme the system, arrogant and full of himself, but he's not smug to coaches. Has been like this since Day 1, has never gone to class, goes to beat of own drum, but has ultimate confidence. Loves the spotlight, football is his release, big games don't scare him."
