Dolphins Waive Dion Jordan After Failed Physical

Mar 31, 2017 8:56 PM

The Miami Dolphins waived former 2013 first-round pick Dion Jordan on Friday after he failed a physical.

The move will save the Dolphins $4.225 million in salary for 2017.

The Dolphins moved up from No. 12 to No. 3 four years ago to select Jordan out of Oregon.

Jordan had just three career sacks and multiple NFL suspensions for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He hasn't played in a game since the 2014 season.

The Dolphins kept Jordan under contract the past two years because of his potential.

Adam Gase Wants Ryan Tannehill To Be More Aggressive

Mar 29, 2017 8:18 AM

Adam Gase isn't worried about Ryan Tannehill making mistakes, he simply wants the quarterback to be more aggressive.

Gase wants the Miami Dolphins quarterback to take more chances with his arm and legs.

"Just be more aggressive,' Gase said. "I really want him to feel comfortable that his decision is going to be right. If he feels like something is not really happening the way he wants, escape from the pocket and not hesitate and worry about, Did I miss something? He's a perfectionist so he wants to be able to stand back there and go through his progression, go one to two to his checkdown. Guys that have athletic ability, that can run, want to prove they can be a great pocket passer. All I care about is getting the first down and scoring points."

Dolphins, Kiko Alonso Agree Upon Four-Year Extension

Mar 22, 2017 8:28 AM

The Miami Dolphins have signed Kiko Alonso to a four-year contract extension.

"It means everything," Alonso said. "This is where I want to be. I'm just excited that it's official that I'm staying here."

Alonso led the Dolphins with 115 tackles last season. Miami gave Alonso a first-round tender earlier this month to prevent the linebacker, a restricted free agent, from exploring his options with other teams.
